Moist Chocolate Cake

Matts Chocolate Cake


  • 2 Cups White Sugar
  • 1-3/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1-1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1-1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Hot Coffee

In Large Bowl, mix together to form a dry mix:  Sugar, Flour, Cocoa Powder, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Salt

In a small bowl, mix together to form a wet mix: Eggs, Milk, Oil, Vanilla

Add liquids to the dry mix.  Use electric mixer for around 4 minutes until blended smooth.

Using a whisk, hand mix in 1 cup of hot, fresh, coffee.

Pour into two, 9 inch, (greased) baking pans and baking at 350 degrees for 30 minutes – or until toothpick pulls out clean.
