Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

This week, I went and saw “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones”

After his High School Graduation, Jessie begins experiencing a number of disturbing and unexplainable things after the death of his neighbor. As he investigates, it isn’t long before Jessie finds he’s been marked for possession by a malevolent demonic entity, and it’s only a matter of time before he is completely under its control…

This was an off-shoot of the Paranormal Activity franchise, though it had a few similar elements to tie it into the other films, it went down a different road. Instead of dealing with a gradual haunting, we saw things closer to the coven of “Mid Wives” which we’ve seen in the last few movies.. what are their purpose? what do they want? and how are they getting there.. all is not 100% explained, of course, that would end the franchise..

My dislike of “Found Footage” movies begs me to tell everyone to not waste your money in the theaters, perhaps they’ll get the hint if no one sees it. The fact that I went on a saturday and there were only 10 people in the theater, says a lot. This is getting old and the franchise has worn thin. But, for those of you who DO happen to enjoy this genre. I dont think you’d be disappointed.

A different twist on things was the apparent call to the Latino community, as the story revolves around the friendship between Jessie and Hector, two latino boys, just graduating high school, Jessie’s grandmother and their family & friends in a Mexican neighborhood. I approve, and I would like to hear honest reactions from the latino community.
