The Mist, or really should be the Fog.. is one of the best Lovecraft-esk stories I’ve seen brought to the screen. The characters were believable and the ending.. man, all of my friends know that I love an unhappy ending.. well, they don’t get a lot more unhappy than this. I loved the look and feel of the production. The creatures where just out of this world (literally), the mood was intense.
Also, I love that Stephen King just keeps bringing New England deeper and deeper into Horror. I’m from New Hampshire, and this movie is based in Maine. I pointed at the screen, toward the end, and told the wife, “Hey, I know where they are!“, as they past a downed highway sign.
Interesting to note that several of the cast, have now appeared in AMC’s The Walking Dead: Jeffrey DeMunn (as Dale the RV Guy), Melissa McBride (as Carol), Laurie Holden (as Andrea), Juan Gabriel Pareja (as Moralez), Sam Witwer (unnamed tank soldier), and Tiffany Morgan (as Erin)
