The staff of the Stonehearst Asylum have been overthrone, locked in the basement cells of the madhouse.. and the mad, but highly intelligent, Silas Lamb (Ben Kingsley) is running the show.
Young doctor, Edward Newgate (Jim Sturgess) visits the hospital to continue his medical experience in the realm of mental health, and falls in love with Eliza Graves (Kate Beckinsale). Can he save the poor girl and the staff before all goes to hell in a hand basket?
Very good acting by all involved.. the story is more complicated that I have alluded to, but I want you to view it for yourself.
